BUMP token utility is developed from the requirement to hold or use BUMP across various modules with integrations throughout the Bumper ecosystem, acting as a ‘token of access’ to various functions and benefits for the user and the protocol. The design of the BUMP token is, therefore, intended to act as the binding agent between Bumper marketplace functions and Bumper’s growing network effect. This prevents the viability of external actors setting up an alternative by simply copying the source code, as markets require participants to function and without network effects they lack utility. Understanding the token utility requires understanding the utility of the various network functions.
